Introduction Of Dao Yin Movement
Dao Yin Movement (DYM) is a combination of meditation and soft exercise, charactered with dynamic stretching and twisting. The movement is created by Dr. Jing Liu, MD and PhD from China, based on the principle of modern medical science and ancient forms of meditation and Tai-Chi. ”Dao Yin” was ancient name of “Qi-Gong” one thousand years ago, meaning the soft movement of mind control body. The purpose of DYM is to integrate the benefits from medical Qi-Gong, Tai-Chi and even Yoga together. Every movement designed in DYM has clear purpose of medical benefits. For example, different from Original Tai-Chi, DYM, practice of DYM has more spiral stretching on the middle and upper spinal cords in order to promote the important inner organs’ functions. The multiple directional movement of DYM will improve general body flexibility, balance and physical strength and energy. DYM specially emphasize the training of the abdominal breathing technique to improve the mind calmness and the balance of autonomic nerve systems.
DYM include three stages of training courses. The first one is Dao Yin Qi Gong (or Qi exercise); the second is Dao Yin Bar exercise, using a 16 inch bar to enhance the capacity of the body stretching and flexibility; the third is free hand soft movement.
Dao Yin Movement Society (DYMS) is the only authorized nonprofit organization (in application) in charge of teaching and training DYM in USA. DYMS has successfully organized training courses in Winchester senior center and Lexington Buddha temple; and presented demonstrations in several opportunities since last year.
DYMS has planted to open the training classes specifically for the people with cancer in the near future. For the purpose, there will be more practices of DYM on flushing the lymph system, promoting the immune function and mental health.

導引功是劉京博士根據醫學原理並藉鑑氣功、太極和易筋功法發展的一種以調氣和脊柱運動為核心的健身術。 導引功包括三部分:醫學氣功(導引呼吸法)、導引棒和導引動功。基本動作特點是配合腹式呼吸的柔和肢體運動。與太極不同的是導引功更強調肢體旋𨍭屈伸,鬆緊馳張結合。以脊柱帶動軀幹和肢體扭𨍭屈伸運動。這種運動可以最大程度的舒展經筋,疏通經絡,改善循環。從解剖生理學的角度看,這種脊柱運動不僅有利於改善椎體、椎間關節、脊柱靭帶及肌肉的功能,並且可以通過刺激脊髓神經調節內臟功能。在練習過程中,導引功強調以意帶“氣”; 以“ 氣”帶動脊柱, 以脊柱帶動肩胯, 以肩胯帶動臂手和腿足。
